   I have always protected the wp-admin folder using a .htaccess/.htpasswd set-up. After upgrading to the latest wp version today I now find that people are being asked for the htaccess/htpasswd details when they visit the site home page. You can cancel and visit OK but it is messy

   To get around this I have temporarily disabled the htaccess fie in the wp-admin folder by renaming it to old.htaccess. What can be causing this issue

   problem was caused by tierra-audio autoresume plug-in calling thickbox file in wp-admin
