    Hi,

    I have read a lot of info about the htacess (here) but nothing related to the installation of wordpress on its own folder.
    Also i tried those suggestion i posted and they are not working for me.

    I have this setup:
    / - this is empty, just the index.php file from the wordpress installation and the htaccess file
    /app/ this is an external app. The folder i want to access.
    /app2/ another folder for another app
    /wordpress/ this is my wordpress instalation.

    I want to access the app folder and keep accessing the blog from the root.
    This is my htaccess file on the root folder (and it is the same on the wordpress folder):

    Options +FollowSymLinks
    RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^mysite\.com$ [NC]
    RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.mysite.com/$1 [R=301,L]

    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/app/(.*)$ [OR]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_URI} ^/app2/(.*)$
    RewriteRule ^.*$ - [L]
    </IfModule>

    # BEGIN WordPress
    <IfModule mod_rewrite.c>
    RewriteEngine On
    RewriteBase /
    RewriteRule ^index\.php$ - [L]
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-f
    RewriteCond %{REQUEST_FILENAME} !-d
    RewriteRule . /index.php [L]
    </IfModule>

    # END WordPress

    This is not working at all.
    The permalinks allways work but not the redirect from the root to the worpress folder for the blog.

    Do i need to change the wordpress htaccess file at all?
    DO i need to have different htaccess or both file must be the same?

    Thanks
