    How to protect my htacces file? I dont know how but sometimes, maybe because of a viruses, trojans, it is corrupted and i cant load any page then. When i click on any link i get error 404 not found.
    Well, i have a back up and i replace it. But it happens too often. So how to protect this file? what permissions to assign. Are you getting same problem? How do u protect it?

    Access via FTP and change permissions to read only.

    Hi,

    You can assign 644 permissions to protect your .htaccess file. You can do it from your domain's hosting control panel. Please let me know which control panel are you using?
