   i'm trying to get the permalinks to become a custom /%postname%.
   i created a .htaccess and made it writable.

   When saving on the permalinks page it tells me the new structure has been updated but it doesn't show up when i return to the permalinks page. ( i get the old options again).

   any tips?

   if you using 3.3 there a another choice post name select that
