.htaccess and RSS

    Okay. I have two problems with my WP…
    (1) First off, should my .htaccess file be empty? O_o
    (2) I’m having problems with my RSS file. I’m trying to get it to work but I’m getting this problem:
    XML Parsing Error: xml processing instruction not at start of external entity
    Location: http://students.washington.edu/edpham/weblog/wp-rss2.php
    Line Number 2, Column 1:<?xml version=”1.0″ encoding=”utf-8″?>
    I’ve scanned through my pages to see if there’s any whitespace, but I haven’t been able to find any. I’ve checked the index.php file so far… What can I do about that?

    1 – Yes and no. If you want ‘nice urls’ for your posts, then go to Options > Permalinks and follow the stuff there for creating the necessary info. If it looks complex, just go with what the program suggests for now – you can change it later.
    2 – Is there anything at the very start of the w-rss2.php file ? No carriage returns should be there – not sure from the source view if one has crept in ?
