htaccess 301 Redirect problem (1 post)

    Hi,

I feel like I should know the answer to my question but it seems to be escaping me. Basically I am setting up an htaccess file with numerous redirects to specific pages. In general, this works fine. My problem is when I add a redirect for a top level category, none of the redirects below that work. For instance.

    Redirect 301 /category/old-sub-category http://otherwebsite.com/new-page

...works find by itself. But if I do this:

    Redirect 301 /category http://otherwebsite.com/
    Redirect 301 /category/old-sub-category http://otherwebsite.com/new-page

The second redirect shows up like this:
    http://otherwebsite.com/old-sub-category

    instead of this:
    http://otherwebsite.com/new-page

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks!
