How to use "Press This" utility in WP?

I have been using WP since long.
But I am not yet sure as to how to use Press This utility.

The description given about it is not enough.

Press This is a bookmarklet: a little app that runs in your browser and lets you grab bits of the web.

Use Press This to clip text, images and videos from any web page. Then edit and add more straight from Press This before you save or publish it in a post on your site.

Drag-and-drop the following link to your bookmarks bar or right click it and add it to your favorites for a posting shortcut.

I dragged it and placed on my bookmarks row. But then what? I selected the text that I want to copy in my post but the 404 error page of my site pops up and thats alll…………….
Please help….

404? That’s odd. What does your web server’s error page say for that 404?

Just as a level set, do you mind repeating these steps?

Login to your WordPress dashboard and visit the Tools menu.

http://your-wordpress-url-here/wp-admin/tools.php

Drag the Press This link to your bookmark bar.

Visit some other page on the Internet (anypage).

Press the bookmark you’ve just dragged to the bookmark bar.

A new window should pop up with a smaller version of the post editor and the title of the page you visited should be in the post title with a link in the page you were on.

See if that does anything for you or produces another 404.

I tried, Jan Dembowski sir, as directed by you, but with no luck.
However, once only a new window popped up with a smaller version of the post editor and then I copied some text from a webpage and pasted it in that editor. Then posted it with success.
But again when I tried for the next time, it failed. I am using FIREFOX 10.0.2 (Mozilla Firefox with AOL Toolbar, aol-1.8)
I checked all problems in my PC with no luck….

I am having exactly the same problem. No luck at all. Using either Chrome or Firefox. Thoughts? Thanks 🙂

I found that this works for me – not perfect fix, but it works.
