    I created a page called “Blog”, added it to the menu, and set it as the “Posts Page” in Settings > Reading. I also set the “Front Page” to a different page “About Us” (even though I want to use the Custom Home Page) just so I could set the Blog page to be the Posts page.

    When “Custom Home Page” is OFF, the Blog page displays the a list of blog posts. But the front page displays the “About Us” page, not the Custom Home Page.

    On the other hand, when “Custom Home Page” is ON, the Blog page displays the “Blog” page itself – empty. The front page displays the Custom Home Page.

    What do I need to do so that I could set the “Custom Home Page” to ON, while using the “Blog” page as the Posts Page?

    Hope I am making sense.

  • Hi Obay

    The easiest way to approach this with Vantage is to leave Settings > Reading on it’s default of Front Page Displays = Your Latest Posts. On your Blog page set the Template under Page Attributes in the right column to Blog. Head to Appearance > Home Page, turn Custom Home Page ON and you should have the result you’re after. Appearance > Theme Settings > Blog has all the Blog related theme settings.

    Thanks Misplon. Haven’t really gotten that far in my process, but you have answered one of my questions so far.

    Glad to hear you’re making progress.

    Misplon, I have my site set up for the most part now, but when trying to keep my Custom Home Page “ON”, and setting my “What’s New” page (my blog page) to blog as mentioned above, it does not show as a regular page, or use Page Builder options as I had set before. Basically, it removes my entire set up. I wanted to have the “circle icons” at the bottom with the Vantage Headline at the top, but when setting the page to “blog” template, it removes this. Any work around? Thanks in advance. My Website

    disregard, answered my own question. lol.

    Awesome, glad to hear you found a solution. The answer for anyone else checking this thread would be as follows:

    Once you’ve set a page as your Blog page using the Page Template option in the right column you aren’t able to add any content to that page. The page will pull your posts using the Blog template. If you’d like to add content via Page Builder around your posts what you’ll need to do is set the page template to Full Width. Then head to your Page Builder tab on that page. Add the Post Loop (PB) widget where you’d like to see your posts displayed. You can then add content as required around the Post Loop (PB) widget. If you’d like to pull posts from one or more categories you can use the Additional field within the Post Loop (PB) widget to add something like:

    cat=x

    Where x is the category ID OR:

    cat=x,y

    Where x and y are the category ID’s you’d like to pull.
