how to Upload theme via ftp?

    I have the ftp address and a password but have not been given a user name by wordprss. How do I upload a new theme via ftp without a user name? Thanks in advance for help

    Uploading via FTP is independent of wordpress. You need an FTP username and password as well as the hostname from your host. You use these with an FTP program. I use the FTP inside Dreamweaver 8.
