• Hi there!

I’ve got a copy of wordpress running on my local machine and have been working on my own theme for my blog (I used the ‘import’ feature to import posts from an existing Blogger account). Everything seems to be going okay—for the most part, including adding pages linked to templates etc.

Is there a recommended (and hopefully automated) way of getting all my stuff (wordpress database, posts, pages, settings, theme etc) to my remote server (which already has wordpress installed)? Or would I have to manually get my theme, settings and pages on to the server?

    Thanks in advance!

  • I don’t think there is any “automatic” way.
    You should:
    1. Backup the local DB and restore it on your server
    2. Upload your theme (and plugins if any)

Don’t forget to disable all plugins before you move it!
