I've asked this before, but no luck so far... So, I'm trying one more time:
WordPress uploads four (or so) versions of any image uploaded via the "set as featured image" function. How can we ensure that only *one* version (the small thumbnail) is uploaded?
Automatically uploading four versions of each featured image would help increase disk space rather rapidly, I think... Any suggestions on how to avoid that?
Our site has -- literally -- thousands of images. I should add that each full-sized image is manually uploaded (via FTP) to a separate, non-WP folder.
Any assistance would be MUCH appreciated.
