   Actually I have 2 questions:

   1. If I upgrade to a newer version will the site be messed up? or will it work just as well?

   2. And if it won't do damage to the site, how do I upgrade?

   1. you might have migration issues related to older versions of plugins or themes
   2. read Upgrading WordPress or Upgrading WordPress Extended
