   I created my own custom theme. When I make some changes to it and upload it as a zip file in the administration panel I receive a message like "theme installation failed - destination folder not empty". This of course is true, the folder holds the previous version of my theme and I want to update it.

   So now I first have to change my active theme, then delete my custom theme, then upload the new version and activate it again. Is there a smoother way to update my custom theme? I tried incrementing the version number in style.css, but that does not matter.

   Try unzipping in a separate folder (or offline) and then copy (or FTP) them over.

   Thanks Ryan, but according to me that's still too much hassle. I'm looking for some kind of configuration setting.
