• How do I turn off the automatic corrections in the post editor.

I work a lot in HTML and when I save I find useless <p> s and sometimes </p> s without an opening tag…
Also I get a “spacer ” paragraph automatically inserted

When I want these I will put them in !…

    Please, please (pretty please)

Will someone tell me how to turn this off – it is driving me demented !

(note for WP developers : make this function an option – some of us are grown up enough to think for ourselves)

I have ended up using a double solution (which may be overkill)

    • Headspace plugin : go to site wide configuration and tick the box “disable WP auto-formatting”
    • WP unformatted plugin – for this to work, on each post where you want your code left alone, you have to slide down the page in the editor and find custom fields you put “Sponge” in the name for the field and “1” in the value field and click “add”

My code now stays as I write it – sometimes the page does’t come out as I want it – but at least I know it is MY fault and I can do something about it.
