• Hello —

I wanted to post a ‘blank page’ or ‘parked page’ or something until my blog is ready to ‘go live’.

I’m using the .org version and have it installed on my host server, but I want to make it not visible until all the changes I want to make are done and I’m ready to ‘launch’.

Is there a way to do this? (make it not visible until I’m ready for it to be seen and still be able to edit it?)

    Thanks!

  • Hi,

Here’s a band-aid fix: install WP in its own directory (not root) and in the root of your domain create an index.htm page (could be blank, or type up a simple message). When you’re ready to launch replace the root index.htm file with a new one but with a redirection to the WP directory.

I’m not sure about installing WP in your domain’s root and configuring in the settings to use a new blank index file as the Home file (I think this is possible though I haven’t tried it yet).

    Good luck.
