How to stop homepage title from being duplicated?

    I have a home page title… say “Home”

    and for each post that I have the home page title then appears after the blog post title..
    for example… ‘Blog Post 5h June’ has a title of “Blog Post 5th June – Home”
    and ‘Blog Post May 2013 becomes…. “Blog Post May 2013 – Home”

    How can I stop the home blog page title from being duplicated everywhere… I could just remove the Blog home title but then the blog homepage wouldn’t have a title?

    Any suggestions?

    What is the name of your site as configured in Settings -> General?

    That is where I have the home page title… and THAT is being replicated everywhere… should I leave that blank? but then the home page of the blog won’t have a title…

    What EXACTLY is the name of your site as configured in Settings -> General? We need to see it here.

    And is “Theatre” the name of your entire site? Or just your home page? If it’s not the former, why are you using that word in the field labelled “Site name”?

    It is “Site Title” and… is connected with an html based website which has the ‘homepage’ for the domain… as such the website ‘name’ is the website domain name… and is the name of our business… but IF I add that to the ‘Site Title’ then I would be seen to be spamming the search engines… (I don’t wish to add it here and be seen to be spamming here)… so what should I add to the site title? and should that ALWAYS be repeated on every post?

    No, it’s not. It’s the title for the whole site.

    Who told you that!? Because it’s complete rubbish. just add the name of your site in that field – not the title of your current front/home page.

    okay.. the domain is made up of four words… and is our business name…. should I use those four words as the site title? or use the domain url? and is it then ‘normal’ for this Site Title to appear after every blog post title?

    Yes – just use the name of your business.

    Depending upon the theme & the context, yes. And it’s not spamming at all.

    IF I were to NOT want the Blog Title to every post how would I achieve that?

    Probably by customising the theme’s template file – usually via a child theme.
