YOP Poll
[resolved] How to start the poll with X number of votes? (5 posts)

Hi, I just installed our plugin, it looks awesome! But since I will be using your plugin instead of another one as of now, I will need the new polls to have the same number of votes they already had when I was using the other polls plugin.

So my question is: how can I start the polls with a certain number of votes already made? It may sound weird but it would be very helpful, I don't want to lose all the previous votes...

    Thanks a lot!

    Hi Alkorr,

You can not do that with the current version of the plugin but you can make these changes in phpmyadmin.

If you are familiar with this application we can give you more instructions.

    Please let us know.

    Hey,

In phpymyadmin look for the database that contains your wordpress.
In the database search for the "wp_yop_poll_answers" table, that includes the answers for all your polls.

In the "wp_yop_poll_answers" table you have to find the answers corresponding to the poll you want to change - you can run a search using the "poll_id" field.

When you find the answers edit each one of them and in the "Votes" field add the corresponding number of votes.

Once you've done that you need to look for the "wp_yop_polls" table in the same database and edit the poll you want to modify. In "total_votes" and "total_answers" fields simply add the sum of votes for each answer.

    This should do it.

If you have any questions, please let us know.

    Best wishes,

    YOP Team

    That's great, I'll do that.

Maybe you could add an Edit Logs so it would easier to do.

Thanks a lot for your help! :)
