    Hi,

I'm feeling really stupid here (I'm a newbie). I can post a comment to an existing thread/topic. But how do I (as a user) create a new one?

    Thanks

Hi there, just go to the forum that you think is right for you.
    for example How-To and Troubleshooting.
When you get to that forum, next to the title there is a link, Add New.
    Hope this helps,
    and good luck.
    mike.
PS. This is a new post you've set up, so I guess you worked it out ok.

    Hi,

Sorry, I wasn't clear. My question is about my site/blog; not this forum.

    Thanks

The easiest way is to click on Site Admin, log in using your admin details, and click New Post from the dashboard.

Are you saying that only the admin can create a new post (as opposed to a reply)?

I would like to allow my users who are all authors to create new posts.

    Thanks

They would do the exact same thing. Log on to Site Admin and click "New Post"

Hi again, sorry I misunderstood your question, I would take a look in the codex under roles as well if you are assigning different authors, it will explain the different rights that different users can have on your blog.
    all the best.
    mike.
