    I've been trying to show 'recent posts' and 'archives' on the the blog page and single posts. I coded:
    is_page('blog') || is_single
    the widgets are showing up on single posts but not on the blog page. any help with that will be appreciated. I think widget logic is alright if you know how to code. it's more straightforward. thanks.

    souleye - I was having the same problem when using a Genesis theme. Even though it was not my home page, I had to use is_home() to make the the widget show up on my blog page. Nothing else would work (I tried the page ID, the page template and the page slug). Perhaps is_home() will work for you as well.

    Good luck!

    gosh! it did it. actually, after trying everything, I kinda thought of is_home() then I said 'no, the blog isn't on the home page. big mistake. have a nice weekend and thank you again. souleye
