   Hi

   How do I make the author show on the page of a post..

   I have already changed the code in wp-content/theme/default/index.php so that the author shows on the front page..

   But when you click on a post it doesnt show...?

   If you have a single.php file in your theme, you'll need to make the same changes to that file too.
