   I am using wp 3.0 with sub-directory multisite option.
   I want people to see a list of newly registered (created) sites on my multisite wp.
   Is there a way to browse through the existing sites for a normal user/visitor ?

   @andrea_r: I tried your archive @ http://wpmututorials.com/plugins/newest-blogs-widget/ but the link at http://wpmudevorg.wordpress.com/project/List-All does NOT work. And to tell you the truth I didn't quite understand how I should use it. Did you probably mean a different archive?

    But I think dark forces (ooooo....) do not want me to find a solution to this. lol
    I tried the yd-wpmu-bloglist-widget and although there ARE blogs all I get is: "There are currently no active blogs."

    The site http://1uthavi.adadaa.com/new-updated-active-blogs-widgets/ was finally up. I installed the plugin but I only get 2 blogs showing up. In the plugin it says that:

    "This widget depends on List-All pluggin by Andrew Billits"

    You also mentioned that you were to release an updated copy.
    Could this be the reason of the malfunction?
