How to show blog from different directory from installed directory? (4 posts)

Hi, all, I think I have a new question. I'm planning to use the WordPress blog as my homepage on my new site, but I didn't want all the wordpress files ending up in my site's home directory (because I need to be organized), so I installed it to a subdirectory. I can link to the blog fine from my home page, but now I want it to work with just the index.php in my home directory *as* my home page and the rest of it in it's subdirectory. Is this possible? I can handle individual file edits, but keep in mind that I know zero PHP, even though am a Linux geek with half a dozen other programming languages under my belt...on a hobbyist level. I'm just new to this funky web stuff (-:! Is this going to be a grueling five-hundred-line edit, or is it a simple matter of an option I haven't discovered, yet?
