    hey

is there a way to create like a 'preset' for wordpress, so whenever a new user registers he can choose whether he wants to run a clean wordpress or he can choose one of the different blog setups, with different theme sets and plugins pre-configured. obviously id like to be able to modify these persmissions once the blog is set up (perform an update on users blog, change the blog 'preset').

is there a way to do this?

@andrea_r But this plugin requires a hack of wp-activate.php. Too bad. Probably no way to do it without.

  3. The hack is definitely not recommend.

But, you can copy blogs without making that hack.

The only reason I mentioned it is because this is the only plugin out there that lets you pick what template setup to use from the signup page.

Do you think there is a way to do what this plugin is doing without having to hack any core files and still maintaining all the functionality? I haven't looked at it but I know my boss would love it if we could have a template for course sites, faculty sites, department sites, etc.

  5. Indeed I do.

could you tell me what possible threats id be exposing my wordpress installation to if id use this plugin?

  7. No threats, just hacking the core is bad, becasue every single time you upgrade, you'll need to not only remember you made this change, but do it again.
