How to schedule a post to be removed from front page after a certain date

Hey!

Here’s the problem. My client publishes game previews on his site. He wants to be able to schedule preview posts so that they are automatically removed from the front page on a certain date. Let’s say there is a preview post of Game A and this game’s official release date is 12.09.11 This post should be removed from the front page on the day of official release of Game A. However, this post must be kept in the archive.

To me, this is a very odd request and I don’t fully understand why he wants to do that. But as he wants this feature badly, I said I could figure out how to do that.

Does anyone have any idea how to accomplish this via either hard coding or a plugin?

Any help is much appreciated.
