  • You need to set the permissions on your files in the wp-content/themes/(Your Theme Name) folder to 777 so that the web based theme editor can write to the files. Once you set the file permissions the theme editor will have an update file button displayed to then save the files

So for the theme folder I should have it 755 and the themes inside it 777?

how do you set permissions… where is that setting?

cos i am also struggling to save the php once i edit it online..

Well, if you are struglling with it – better give it up.
The online editor doesn’t have an UNDO button.

You’d be better off editing your files on your computer (after making a backup copy, just in case!) and uploading the files via ftp.
