[resolved] How to retrieve WP information outside of WP (3 posts)

My question is rather simple. What I would like to do is integrate wordpress into a site. What I'm trying to do is create a wordpress area (http://www.site.com/blog) but on my home page (http://www.site.com/index.php) I would like to display my lastest blog posts.

The best I could currently find is
    http://wordpress.org/support/topic/export-customizable-post-listings-informations?replies=7
which seems to touch on the subject. But the codex link suggested
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Creating_a_Static_Front_Page#Integrating_WordPress
seems to be outdated. Is there a way to do it outside of the RSS feed?

I sounds like this could be more like what you might be looking for. Take a look at this info and see if it looks like it might give you a push in the right direction.

    Integrating WordPress with Your Website

There is also an example on that same page that you can use as a guide/template for displaying your latest posts.

Display the last three posts on your web page.

hm... actually I think i see a way to make it work thought the wording there seems a bit contrary.

    *bit more digging*

it seems like this post form 2005 seems to cover the topic succinctly.
    http://moshublog.com/2005/07/05/integrate/2/
I can more or less copy from that and update the technique to wordpress 3.0.

that actually solves the issue. thanks.
