You would use the built-in BPS features on the Security Modes page.
How to put BPS in Default Mode
1. Activate Default Mode on the Security Modes page.
2. Use the Delete wp-admin .htaccess feature on the Security Modes page.
If your root .htaccess file is locked then unlock it on the BPS Edit/Upload/Download page.
Do your backup, clone or migration.
On the new site do the standard BPS setup steps.
BPS setup steps:
1. Click the AutoMagic buttons
2. Activate All BulletProof Modes.
3. Setup complete.
Is it necessary to deactivate BPS before backing up and migration?

No, BPS has built-in tools that allow you to put your website in Default Mode and deactivate BPS .htaccess file using the built-in BPS tools. See the post above.
Default Mode means remove all security protection and put WordPress into a default state without any BPS .htaccess file security protection.

Sorry, I’m still in the progress of a successful migration and waiting for the reply of BackupBuddy support to solve the issue. I need to confirm that the migration problem requires no more adjustment with BPS.
Will speed up the efforts and close this thread ASAP. Please forgive my delay, thanks.

Still in progress, hope to have it solved by next week. I will remember to set this thread as ‘resolved’ ASAP, thanks!

Actually since it is going to take that long then I will resolve this Thread. And actually in regards to BPS this Thread is technically already resolved. If you have a direct issue or problem with BPS then reopen the thread. Thanks
