How to rename WordPress folder?

    Okay, I have a WordPress installation of several years… with many posts… and I guess like many named their WordPress folder ‘Blog’ when in fact over time the content is nothing like a blog.

    I would therefore like to rename the ‘blog’ folder to something more relevant.

    A couple of questions…

    Is it just a simple case of re-naming the WordPress installation folder? I believe this can be done via general settings etc BUT.. my url path is greyed out…

    Obviously a redirect could be done for any backlinks etc….

    Also, would it matter If there were other html webpages in the WordPress installation folder or is it always best practice to keep THAT folder clean of anything apart from WordPress?
