How to remove the Leave Comment in Twenty Ten (4 posts)

    Hi, I am helping someone with her website and she is using the theme Twenty Ten. She wants to disable the comments which we have done in Discussion.
    However the link "Leave a comment" shows on the Sticky Post on the excerpt page but shows "comment closed" on all the other posts.
    The sticky was the first post written since we closed the comments, just in case this is relevant.
    How can I remove this?
    I have looked around and tried to amend the loop as suggested in quite a few posts but it isn't working or I am not doing it properly.
    Please help :)

  2. Make a Child Theme of 2010 and delete the different instances of comment code in page templates and the loop files, i.e. remove

    <?php comments_popup_link( __( 'Leave a comment', 'twentyten' ), __( '1 Comment', 'twentyten' ), __( '% Comments', 'twentyten' ) ); ?>

    Thank you but is there anyway to do it without having to create a child theme? I am not familiar with it and I don't want to damage her site.
    Thanks in advance

    try

    dashboard - posts - all posts - quickedit below each post title - untick 'allow comments'

    same for pages.
