We have spam entering our site that creates "Tags" (often dozens a day!) and also as false "Users" (adding user ids as "Contributors"). Does anyone know of a plug-in that will take care of both problems? We are currently using Akismet only. Thank you.

Posted 7 months ago #People may disagree with me, but blogs suck. Don't let any anonymous user post anything, EVER. Period. You'll fight bots all day long. Any solution you come up with today may fail tomorrow. So change your settings to require users to be approved, and don't let any comments be posted without being approved. Your site is probably on a hacker list now, and you'll be inundated forever with such attacks. There are a lot of things that can help reduce the likelihood that such irksome things succeed, but there's nothing out there that can prevent them entirely... so I'd say turn off that functionality entirely.
