[resolved] How to remove [tag] and [/tag] from all posts (4 posts)

    Hi,

For the past year I was using a plugin called SimpleTags by broobles.com which created Technorati tags for all of my posts. These tags were displayed in a row at the bottom of each post, the tags themselves being words from the post that I surrounded with [tag] [/tag].

The plugin throws a fatal error and now I have over 300 posts that have [tag] [/tag] scattered throughout (when the plugin works you cannot see that code in the post).

How can I remove this data from my posts? Is there a script I should run against MySQL or is there a plugin I can use? I've already tried Simple Tags by herewithme.fr and while it imported the tags into WP, it didn't delete the [tag] and [/tag] like I hoped it might.

Please let me know if you need further information from me. I really want to get this cleaned up asap because it looks really bad. Thanks in advance for your help!

Never mind, I did this. I'm not 100% positive that this was the best solution for me (to delete the "[tag]" tags) but I couldn't find a working plugin that used the same syntax. Deleting was the quickest solution in order to clean up my posts - I couldn't leave them as they were.

That was fast... Just made a small plugin to remove old [shortcode] left over from deactivated plugins. It's for the new shortcodes feature in WordPress 2.5, but should work with any [...] entries.

Anyway, if someone else runs into this problem, the plugin is here:
