   You are check it with the Author login?
   I have current test it, works fine. Maybe a other plugin, there change the global var $menu.

   Yes I check it with Author login.
   Author can see +new button and a comment awaiting little button too.

   What does it mean "Maybe a other plugin"?! If your plugin has a problem with other plugins, you must to know about it, not me))

   Do you mean the +new in the menu of admin or you mean the +new button in the list post/page.

   The +new button on the list post/page is not hide with this option. For this you must create a new custom option in Adminimize.
   Use on the current WP version 3.5 the class add-new-h2.

   Also you have a +new in the admin bar, that is also a new option in the admin bar seetings of Adminimize.
