On my profile WordPress.com
I have a link there, but I do not know how to get away 🙁
Please, help me.
Also this forum is for self-hosted WordPress sites, so you should be asking your questions on http://en.forums.wordpress.com/
@esmi: I have a self-hosted site which I accidentally linked to a WP.com account because I wanted to use WP Stats. Once it’s linked, you can not remove the linked blog. I want my clients to sign up for their own WP.com account and link to the blog.
Unfortunately, this is now impossible. Entering their API key for WP Stats in the private hosted blog gives an error that the blog is associated with my account (“marketacumen”).
The link above from randinicole:
http://dashboard.wordpress.com/wp-admin/users.php?page=grofiles-editor
does not allow me to remove the non-WP.com linked blog.
Likewise, this advice:
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/remove-a-linked-blog-1?replies=6#post-374075
http://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/remove-a-linked-blog-2?replies=14
Says to contact wp.com support. Unfortunately, contacting them through this page:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/contact/
Gives me an error that they only support WP.com blogs.
Repeat until sufficiently infuriated. (I’m there, baby.)
Please let me know how I can remove a linked blog without having to sign up for a premium account so I can ask WP.com support a question.
My wp.com username is “marketacumen”
Finally, this is one of those wp.org/wp.com cross-over issues. It’s a private hosted blog using wp.com for stats. So, which is it? wp.com? wp.org?
Try making a dummy wordpress account to get a new API key. In your .org site, go into the stats plugin and put in your new API key. This should remove integration from your .com account.
