Hi,
People can visit my category pages at:
mysite.com/catname
I set this up via the permalink structure.
However it can also be visited by
mysite.com/category/catname
Can I turn this off, I want this to produce a 404?

This plugin will help:
http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/scategory-permalink/
also review these:
http://www.google.com/search?q=wordpress+plugin+remove+category+from+permalink
I'm slightly confused as the plugin didn't seem to help at all.
My Permalink structure is:
/%category%/%postname%/
and this works fine without any plugins. My posts are viewed like:
site/catname/postname
My problem is my categorys have individual homepages which are linked like:
site/catname
This also works fine. The problem is for some reason, when I make a post and in other areas where it says "Posted in Cat Name" it will link to
site/category/catname
It shouldn't say the word category it should just be:
site/catname
So effectivly both site/catname and site/category/catname are duplicate contents at the moment for me.
