Sorry it took so long to get back to you, I have been busy with another project.

At the moment that is not really possible unless you change your permalink structure.

Taking “category” out can potentially cause other issues, like 404 errors. Plus, if you have a category with the slug “some-category”, and a question with the slug “some-category” then going to “my-site.com/some-category/” will take you to the question, not the category, otherwise it could return a 404 error.

    A related issue …
When I add the ‘view category’ link to my ‘faq-home’ page it wants to go to …/faq-home/category/it-faqs and gets a 404.

Problem is the faq category page actually resides at …/faq-category/it-faqs/ as created by the plugin.

All I have done is define the ‘faq-home’ page in setup. Where did the ‘faq-category’ reference come from?

The “faq-category” you are seeing is the taxonomy used by WP to handle the categories. The categories should be under /category/. My first thought is that there is an issue with your theme, or another plugin, that is causing WP to not handle custom post types properly. Make sure that everything is up to date and that no plugin are conflicting with QAFP.

OK. Thanks for the reply. I will check. Consider this issue done for me.
