Support » Fixing WordPress » How to remove all posts except the top sticky blog from the index

  • Hi. I want to have an index page that just has one post on it rather than displaying all the blog posts. Kind of like a welcome introduction thing.

I have pages setup and have installed a plugin to add posts to the pages, so I want to feature specific content to their designated pages only and not have those posts displayed on the main index. So what I want to know is how to do that. I’m sure there’s likely more than one way. I’m kind of looking for the easiest but most efficient.

  • Hi PeterPr

You can choose what content you show on your home page in the Settings > Reading section of your WordPress admin area.

Under ‘Front page displays’, choose ‘A static page’ and select the appropriate Page from the drop-down. You can pick any Page as your home page, and using the plugin you mention, you should be able to display the posts you want.

    Good luck!
