  • I’m a new to WP and did not find a solution for the problem below, but I’m sure this must be solved many times before, so please help me directing to the correct posts.

I have setup different categories and sub categories. However the posts are also related to cities. So my intention is to create tags for the cities as they are not hierarchically dependent. What I want to accomplish is when one selects a city tag, from a list in the sidebar, all posts are filtered for this tag including the categories to choose from.

If one then selects a (sub)category only the post from that category AND the previously selected ‘city’ tag show up.

Is there a way to store the ‘city’ tag, so the posts can be filtered by query_posts()?

In other words, the final result must show only those post of a category filtered for a variable tag.

The reason for not creating a parent category per city and add the categories as sub, is that the categories may exist for multiple cities and then WP creates cat-1 and cat-2 names.

Very much appreciated if someone can help me out.
