How to redirect your default homepage to a custom page?

    Hello,

    You could but I wouldn’t recommend it. What would be the point? I would just have that custom page as your home page, it would still have the URL of the base domain which is what users expect.

    1. Create a single page template php file. ( http://codex.wordpress.org/Pages#Creating_Your_Own_Page_Templates )
    2. Create a page in the WP backend called homepage and make it use your template.
    3. go to Settings > Reading > and choose your ‘homepage’ page to be your front page.
