   I made a rookie mistake I think and would like some advice.

   I posted in my blog and when looking at the post through Newsgator, it seemed it was picking up an old test post that coincidentally had the same name.

   So I changed the post slug of the new post, but not until after Technorati and other bots came by to index the post.

   So now I have an article linked from several places that uses the old post slug and just renders the 404 error.

   What's the easiest way to remedy this?

   Got it figured out. I just added a redirect through cPanel which added the following line to the .htaccess file:
   
RedirectMatch permanent ^/2006/myoldpost/$ http: //mydomain.com/2006/mynewpost/
