How to podcast a show of multiple tracks? m3u? (4 posts)

Hello, I use WordPress for my budding Honest Tunes Radio podcast. So far all the podcasts I've heard (and posted) are 1 mp3 track (per show). Is it possible to make "a podcast" which is 5 audio tracks?

I know how to make a streaming-audio playlist .m3u file. It is simply a text file playlist of the URL's of multiple mp3's. How about if I make my podcast enclosure the little .m3u playlist instead of an actual .mp3?

Here is one useful answer --

Jake says m3u enclosures isn't a good podcast because listeners can't take the audio with them on a portable player. Good point. I'd still like to consider it for computer listeners to get tracks. Anyone else?

Some of our posts also contain links more than one media files. However may popular podcast clients (such as iTunes) aren’t on top of multiple enclosures within one item on a podcast feed.

I personally think we shouldn't change the way we use wordpress just to directly support software lagging behind the times. It's just a case of waiting for them to catch up.

Point your subscribers to Juice or another client you know supports this feature.

I didn't know about Juice, thanks for the tip.

These days I'm using PodPress, which allows me to put multiple media files in a post, theoretically as "Podcasts"... they work as streams and downloads on my site, but I don't know what shows up in iTunes. I guess only the 1st media file shows up in iTunes? If so then those people will have to surf to my site to get the rest of that week's program files.

However I also sometimes use a simple m3u file, instead of using Podpress. Theoretically, this lets me create the stream so that it automatically plays Track 1 > Track 2 > Track 3 on the person's player-of-choice. However some of my users tell me it doesn't flip past the end of Track 1, it gets stuck there (Winblows Media Player). Yet it works fine on my computer with WinAmp.

Anyone else having experience with this?
