    Hi,
I have crerated a plugin and I would like to add a box at the bottom of my plugin options page where the user can add PING URL's.

Whenever the user updates options, I would like to send pings to the URL's in this textarea.

Can someone point me to the documentation or some place where I can find information on how to code for ping?

    thanks

I may be missing something here, but Options > Writing has Update Services so why not use that?

I am creating a plugin which will have form data to be filled in the OPTIONS page of that plugin.

When the user submits and Saves the data in the OTPIONS page, I want to ping sites informing of the new change.

The default PING option in wordpress is available only when you SAVE a POST.

Hence I did a workaround, I called the PING function from within my plugin options page and its working fine :)

Thanks for droping in to help.

You may have valid reasons for wanting this, but I gotta ask: why? Normally you would only ping these services when you have new content. Lots of them only look for your RSS feed anyway, because they don't care what else is on the page, just the content and tags and such.

This is a plugin for someone who have their own ping service and people subscribe to it.

The content on a users log will be updated using this plugin and not a post, hence the need to ping from the plugin page.

Hope this will justify my need :)
