How to move your blog from the wordpress web based platform to the wp program
-
I am having a lot of trouble finding out how to do this so i hope you guys can throw some knowledge my way.
I had created a blog on wordpress.com not (.org) a good while ago and have really loved it. I feel that WP is one of the best content management systems out there and really does give you a ton of control over what you’d like to do.
My problem is that by having a wordpress blog on the wordpress.com site, i am running into tons of limitations as far as writing my own CSS, adding plug ins like all in one SEO, adding j query etc. These options simply don’t exist on the wordpress.com site. I would like to have access to these plug ins and other features that wordpress offers but am not sure how to move my site from wordpress.com to another host, so that i can use the wordpress.org desktop program.
I think that i could probably just move the site off of wordpress to a different host with all of the content files and just pay the $120 to have them do it, but im not sure if their is an easier way or what would be the best course of action. I have asked around for about 6 months now and have really come up empty handed.
If anyone out there can help i would be in debt to you forever.
Thanks a lot!
