   Hi;

   I plan on replacing a friend's website with a blog that looks like her web site. The site has a lot of material and the project will take a long time. My plan is to make two wordpress blog installations on the same server: blogTemp and blog.

   blogTemp will be a quick and dirty blog I will integrate with her static site so that she will be able to post "news" items while I work on the rebuild in the blog named "blog".

   Once "blog" is done I would like to export all of the "posts" ( in a single category I will name "news" ) from blogTemp into blog. Then will delete blogTemp and her her domain point to "blog".

   Can I do this? Can I export specific post categories from one WP database to another? If so, how?

   Is this the smartest way to do things?

   Yes. When you go to export posts, just specify the category :) it's built in.
