So, where will you install it before moving it to the "default location"?
I will install on my server something like mysite.com/wordp
I can set the server to, what's the word, default to mysite.com from mysite.com/wordp but that always seems to cause so many unexpected, funky, eye wrinkling, issues.

OK, so you want to install it in a subdir and when ready to move it to your root? Right?
Did you have a chance to read about it in the online manual, the Codex?
