Yeah, that link is pretty much it.

You can just back everything up and add the SQL to the new database and edit the details in WordPress's configuration file.

Hmmm. What would be better for YOU? The article has the collective wisdom of 22 [twentytwo] WP users and contributors. It has been proven useful for thousands of users seeking answers for the same question as yours.

A different domain is a different domain - no matter whether they are in the same hosting account or not. If being in the same account gives you the possibility to use the same DB server and your WP database can be accessed from either installations, then you are lucky. You just have to move the WP files AND correct your site_url and home values in the DB.

Otherwise, follow the "from one server to another" routine.

In order to get the actual content you'll need to back up your mysql database. Use the export function and then import it with your new site.

Thank you Moshu for your reply.

In fact I don't need the old address used, I wanted to move everything and just use the new domain name, as suggested, I have changed the site_url in DB and home but the probleme remain that I am having a "squelletton" website, the theme is not showing.

    ex. http://www.voiceofafricanwomen.com/

Where did I go wrong please.

    Thanks

How do I take an old site which I built using X-sitepro and put it on WordPress. I have Bluehost doing the hosting account now and have WordPress for one of my websites already.
