How to modify the order of Categories, Archives, Pages, Blogroll, etc.? (6 posts)

    I now have this at the right of my blog:

    Categories
    Archives
    Pages
    Blogroll
    Meta

    I'm using the latest version of WP with a non-default theme.

    How can I move up the Blogroll to the top so that I would get:

    Blogroll
    Categories
    Archives
    Pages
    Meta

    ?

    Is it also possible to rename Blogroll to 'More Blogs' without losing the functionality? And to add for example 'Blog Directories', 'Blog Toplists', 'Blogs I watch' and 'More Links' so that it would be like this:

    More Blogs
    Blog Directories
    Blog Toplists
    Blogs I Watch
    More Links
    Categories
    Archives
    Pages
    Meta

    ?

    I'm new to blogging so I hope I have given all the necessary information for you to answer my question. If not please let me know. Thanks.

    "WP with a non-default theme."

    Edit sidebar.php to get the order you need?

    Without knowing your theme the question is otherwise extremely difficult to answer.

    Ah yes, thanks, that would make sense :-)

    I use this theme: http://teo.esuper.ro/wordpress-themes/falling-dreams

    I suppose I should just move up this part:

    <li>
    <h2 class="sidebar-title">
    <?php _e('Blogroll'); ?>
    </h2>
    <ul>
    <?php get_links('-1', '
    <li>', '</li>
    ', '<br />'); ?>
    </ul>
    </li>

    and I could rename Blogroll to More Blogs.

    But how would I go about with adding:

    Blog Directories
    Blog Toplists
    Blogs I Watch
    More Links

    I mean, I could copy/paste the code above and rename Blogroll to Blog Directories, Blog Toplists, etc., but would it also work?

    See the variety of the Links Manager tags to be used in the sidebar:
    http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags#Links_Manager_tags
    choose the one that serves your needs - and create the Link Catgeories and Links in your admin panel.

    What I'd prefer (although I'm not sure if it's possible) is to use my clickzs.com account in my blog's link categories. That way I could let the links in the categories behave like a toplist (the link that sends most traffic gets the highest position etc.). In my clickzs.com account I can control the html that should be displayed in the links categories, and I would also add link trades within my clickzs.com account. I only would need to be able to include a javascript like this somewhere in WP that would load the links:

    <script type="text/javascript" language="JavaScript" src="http://js6.clickzs.com/ablog-1.js"></script>

    I don't know where to add the javascript though. Would this be possible at all? I don't think I would need any of the Links Manager Tags for that?

    There is answer for (almost) everything in the Codex - you just have to look around:
