[resolved] How to modify one or more User types & their options (4 posts)

I am not sure how to setup changes for each or many User types at one time. I set a number of changes but then I found the Admin Side Bar had changed as well, so I Reset everything.

If I select, for example, Editors and click Save. Do I then go to the other Settings options on the Side Menu and make changes, saving each screen's options first, and then go back to the User types and hit Save again?

I setup a number of settings for Editor and a few others only to find that the Admin Side Bar had changed too. I'd like to learn more about the process prior to working with this any more.

It looks like a great Plugin and does all I want and more. Thanks for sharing with us!

I figured this out...and created another issue which I'll post in new ticket.

The answer to my question is: When one is on the screen where one can select all types of Users, or one or more, if you check the boxes and hit save, any selections and saves you make on the next pages under the Plugin are changed. Therefore, if you make changes to the Admin in the Users selected, every change in the next Pages are changed for the Admin.

    Hi learning22,

    I'm sorry, I didn't follow you.

    For Example,
    1) Select the user role.( EDITOR Checked)
    2) Setting the Admin Side Bar.
    3) Setting the Screen Options.

I have tested in this way, and I worked.

    >go back to the User types and hit Save again?
No, there is not need to back.

If you don't mind, may I ask your problems?

    Thank you.

I did figure this out as you outlined in your Example. However, I did not know I did not have to go back to the first screen, User role, and hit save again.

I did have the issue with locking myself out and found this link helpful in resetting the database versus deleting and reinstalling the software which does not work unless one deletes the entry in the database: http://wordpress.org/support/topic/database-storage-of-data?replies=2

Thank you for your speedy reply. Nice program.
