   I want to know if there is a way to stop people from uploading files to your server that can affect your site.

   What are the usual permissions for wordpress files? So in that way, I can stop hackers from uploading files.

   Thanks for the link, I already have 644 for my files and 755 for my folders, will this disallow files uploads that do not belong to me?

   It should, but there are other ways to wreak havoc to any website. How secure is your webhost server, are your passwords for FTP, database, or webhost panel strong? Have you read the whole article?

   Yes I have read the whole article, and my web host is very secure.
