For those using wordpress to design web sites, not blogs, is there a way for Google and others to list it as a web site and not a blog? It doesn't make a big difference but would help proper categorization in search engines.

Google doesn't split the web in sites and blogs. Where did you get that ideea from?
If you don't want it to LOOK like a blog, just use a magazine theme or build a custom one.
