Hi all,
It used to be that if I put an image or video at the top of my blog posts that image or an image of the video would appear on Facebook if I posted a URL of that blog post.
No more.
I Googled around and learned about the “feature image” feature. I tried setting one for a post with a youtube video at the top. The featured image appears in my blog post editor, but still no dice when I post the URL to Facebook. A meta tag for the og:image does not appear either. I blew my browser cache, but that did not help.
For posts where I post a youtube video I want an image representing the video to appear on Facebook, but in my post.
For posts where I just post an image at the top of my blog post, I want that image to appear in Facebook.
How can I do these two things?
Admins, please delete the first post in this thread and replace it with this one. Thanks
Are you using a plugin for this? If so, post in that plugin’s forum. FWIW, from what I have seen, FB is inconsistent about how it pulls images – see the explanation here:

I’m not using a plugin.
I am just posting images and videos into my blog posts.
I can’t edit my first post in this thread. Could you please replace my fisrt post in this thread with my second post?
Try using a plugin – it may give you better control over what gets posted. Aside from that, see the link above for more info about how FB works.

I read your link.
Which plugin do I want? I don’t want my blog posts to automatically go to facebook, just some.

I found this plugin, which is nice and simple doing only what I need. It inserts Facebook meta tags automatically so pictures and blurbs from my blog posts show on Facebook.
I found it by searching on the name from the plugin search inside of WordPress:
“Fedmich’s Facebook Open Graph Meta”
